OPI GelColour Workshop

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I've been sooo sick since Wednesday night... Awful!!
Anyway... Onto something far more interesting:
On Wednesday I went on a training course at my local Capital Hair & Beauty for OPI GelColour and absolutely loved it!! After much debating I have invested in the 'Rolls Royce' of LED lamps and starter kit and I am all ready to roll!! :D I am so excited (if not a little nervous) to get started!!!
I went with OPI as opposed to the other brands for a number of reasons:
a) there aren't a lot of places locally that offer OPI
b) I love the OPI polishes and always have.
c) I like that the removal process has no need for any buffing whatsoever, it literally leaves no damage to your nail and pops right off!!
d) it's very quick to apply and has a gorgeous finish.
I am going to invest in some nail art supplies such as glitter and studs etc to extend my small selection of polishes for now and practice with!!
I'm going to be starting with a very small client base, mainly just friends and family and hoping to expand my business by word of mouth... Eventually I am hoping to offer more services, such a brow definition and maybe tanning, with the final goal of training in makeup artistry.
If anyone has any tips or suggestions, I am totally open to any and all help!!
I'm going to start with an introductory offer to my first 10 clients of a gel manicure (colour or French) for £7.50 with £2.50 off their next appointment if they book again. The full price service will be £15 for gel manicure and £18 for a gel pedicure. I will be doing a refer a friend scheme that will offer £2.50 off their next treatment. Below is the colours I have available at present, I know it's a small selection, but we all have to start somewhere and at £20 a bottle of polish I will only be able to afford 1 a month... At most for now!!

Thanks for looking guys... I've got a product review in the pipeline, so stay tuned :)

New Blog...

Well hello bloggin world... welcome to my new blog!!

This is something I've been meaning to do for a long long time and I've finally got up the guts to do something about it!!  This blog will be dedicated to all things makeup and beauty and maybe other stuff that I get up to in my little life...

It will mostly consist of reviews and makeup looks and nail art that I create.  Eventually I may even progress onto tutorials and giveaways... but one step at a time!!

So here's a little bit about me...

Makeup and beauty is something that I have always had a passion for and been interested in, buying magazines, products and generally never being affraid to play with makeup.  I NEARLY went straight into beauty at college after I left school at 16, but chickened out and have stumbled my way through academia since then.  I briefly dabbled in Manicure and Pedicure nearly 10 years ago, this was something I really really enjoyed, but I was going through a very confused and unstable time in my life, so that never came to anything (except a big hole in my pocket!!).  Most recently I have completed a degree in Criminology & Applied Psychology last year and am currently working as a Clinical Support Worker at a Medium Secure Forensic Facility in the local area.  I absolutely love my jod... BUT... have realised the lack of prospect within the role and without doing a conversion course and my masters I'm still a massive way off a career as a Clinical Psychologist and even then the jobs are like gold dust!  So... Considering my age and circumstance I am flirting with the idea of following my original dream of being a Makeup Artist.  So this is where I'm starting!!

I intend to eventually do the Illamasqua 5 day course in London, but being that it costs £1000 to do, that won't be for a while yet.  I'm starting small, and on Wednesday I'm doing a course at the local Capital in OPI Gel Polish.  The theory being that if I start earning extra money doing nails, I can put that back in to my makeup kit and courses.

Please feel free to comment with your blog so I can follow other beauty blogs, it will be no fun doing this journy alone!!  Also, share my page on twitter and I will repay the favour!!

Thanks :)
